Living Ocean Tours

Mark, Kyle, and Captain Shawn were all friendly, efficient, and hard working to ensure we got underway on time so everyone could maximize our fun. The trip out was smooth and we were in the water within thirty minutes. The slide has a steep drop and delivers you into the water at speed. VERY fun. Water will go up your nose, so if you've sinus issues, prepare for a natural neti pot. The water mat is perfect for sun lounging between splashing kids. The water trampoline is a challenge to climb and a perfect place for the kids to chill together before diving back into the water. We saw several turtles throughout the day and were able to identify many of the fish we saw because of a chart the crew offered us. All of the equipment was in excellent shape and sanitized and the crew was prompt to collect any left lying around, so keep yours to hand if you want to keep using it. Purses and backpacks are fine--they will go into plastic baskets under the benches. Shoes will be deposited in a communal bucket to be returned to you after the tour, so bring sandals that you won't worry about. There is one toilet on board, but nothing but human waste can be flushed, so be prepared. If you struggle with motion sickness, stay seated and don't walk around. The back of the boat is least bumpy. At the end of the day, we did spot some whales, which Captain Shawn hurried to get us close to. Everyone cheered the extra effort! Mahalo!

TLDR: Close to Waikiki, great crew, lots of turtles. Well worth the time and money! Do it! We went on the Turtle Snorkeling excursion and had a blast! Super friendly and knowledgeable crew and captain, absolutely beautiful views, lots of turtles and fish, and even had a few dolphins come by. We would ABSOLUTELY go again and go on some of their other outing options. Also, it is super close and convenient if you are staying in Waikiki. Some of the other companies we looked at said they were located here but they were actually in northshore when you actually booked. This one is actually where it says. Book a trip, you wont regret it!

Even though it was cloudy, it was still a great trip. You get a good view of waikiki and the Diamond Head Crater from the water and the perfect spot to see the sunset. We liked that the business is family owned; the whole crew was wonderful. If you want a quieter spot (in case of a big drinking party like we had on our tour), just head up to the front of the boat. Best views are from there anyway!

Turtely Awesome time! This was my wife’s first time snorkeling and our first time in Hawaii. We sailed with Capt. Liz and her crew ( Brandon, Ella, Chase and Kyle). Such a fun group, took great care of us on land, on boat and in the water. Saw tons of fish, one after another turtle sightings, and even a white tip reef shark! Very cool experience! 10/10

I was so impressed with Living Ocean tours! The entire staff on our snorkel - Sean, Sophia, Lyla and Lydia were top notch. We learned so many fun facts about the Hawaiian ocean and sea turtles, and saw about TEN turtles! 4 of them surfaced and we got to see them up close. It was so fun and definitely a highlight of our trip. I recommend going early- we were the first ones out there at 7am and I think that contributed to the amount of sea life we saw. Plus, you get to see the sun rise over Waikiki!

Took the first turtle tour on 7/9. While my family thoroughly enjoyed every minute with the turtles in the clear water for quite some time before any other tours came out, I unfortunately became very seasick. All of the staff took care of me making sure I got fins I could use, getting my exhausted and vomiting self back to the boat safely, and offering me Sprite and a barf bag. They checked in on me while we waited for everyone to return. I'm sorry I missed the turtles, but I was so grateful the staff went out of their way to make sure I was doing okay. P.S. Take anti-nausea meds the day before if you intend to go early.
